Introduction to Fractional RF Microneedling

Fractional RF-Microneedling is an advanced cosmetic procedure that combines radiofrequency (RF) energy with microneedling to address various skin concerns. Here’s a detailed explanation of the process:

Fractional RF-Microneedling Process:

1- Consultation: The process typically starts with a consultation where the client’s skin concerns are assessed, and a personalized treatment plan is discussed.

2- Cleansing: The targeted area is thoroughly cleansed to remove any makeup, oils, or debris.

3- Topical Anesthesia: A topical numbing cream may be applied to minimize discomfort during the procedure.

4- Fractional RF-Microneedling: The fractional RF-microneedling device, which combines microneedles and radiofrequency energy, is applied to the skin. The microneedles create controlled micro-injuries, while the RF energy penetrates deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production.

5- Collagen Stimulation: The controlled injuries induced by microneedles trigger the body’s natural healing response, leading to increased collagen and elastin production. This process improves skin texture, tightens the skin, and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

6- Radiofrequency Energy: The RF energy adds an extra layer of skin-tightening effect by heating the deeper tissues, promoting further collagen remodelling.

7- Post-Treatment Care: After the procedure, clients may experience mild redness and swelling, which usually subside within a few days. It’s crucial to follow post-treatment care instructions provided by the skincare professional.

Microneedling Pen for Serum Infusion:

  1. Microneedling Pen: Following the fractional RF-micro needling treatment, a micro needling pen may be used to create additional microchannels in the skin.
  2. Serum Application: Serums containing beneficial ingredients like vitamins, hyaluronic acid, peptides, or growth factors are applied to the treated area. The microneedling pen enhances the absorption of these serums, maximizing their effectiveness.

Advantages of Combined Treatment:

1- Synergistic Effects: The combination of fractional RF-microneedling and microneedling pen creates a synergistic effect, addressing multiple skin concerns simultaneously.

2- Improved Absorption: The microchannels created by both procedures enhance the absorption of serums, ensuring optimal delivery of active ingredients into the skin.

3- Versatility: This combination is versatile and can be customized to address specific concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and skin laxity.

4- Enhanced Results: The dual approach can provide enhanced results compared to standalone treatments, offering a more comprehensive solution for clients. It’s important to undergo this combined treatment under the guidance of a qualified skincare professional to ensure safety, personalized care, and optimal results tailored to individual client concerns.

After and Before RF-Microneedling Fractional

RF-Microneedling is an extremely safe and effective cosmetic procedure. However, as with all treatments, it’s essential to take special care of your skin before and after the procedure for fast recovery and best results.

•Avoid Accutane in the six months prior to beginning your treatment sessions.
•Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or acids 5-7 days prior to your treatment.
•Do not take anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for at least 3 days prior to your RF-microneedling session. These will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical for your skin rejuvenation.
•No waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis to the area being treated for 5-7 days prior.
•Do not shave the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation. If there’s dense hair present in the treatment area, shave the day before you arrive for your appointment.
•If you’re prone to cold sores, take an antiviral agent for 2 days prior to and the day of the treatment.
•Avoid blood thinning agents for one week prior because bruising is a common side effect of RF-microneedling.
As with any cosmetic skin treatment, it’s important to look after your skin following a RF-microneedling procedure for best results.
•Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications for one week after the procedure.
•Do not use ice on your face, and avoid using arnica/bromelain. These may interfere with the natural inflammatory process that’s critical for your skin rejuvenation.
•Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks. After 48 hours, always use sunblock (30 SPF or higher) and wear a hat if you’re outside.
•Use a painkiller, such as Tylenol, if you experience any soreness.
RF-Microneedling is a quick and non-invasive cosmetic procedure with minimal side effects. However, it’s quite normal to experience the following:
Day 1-3
A sunburn-like effect is normal. Your skin may feel tight, dry or sensitive to touch. Treat the skin gently by washing it with a , cool water, and using only your hands to pat dry no earlier than 24 hours after treatment.
Some redness may also be present and in some cases, patients may experience slight bruising that can last for 5-7 days and temporary swelling for 2-4 days.
  • Avoid strenuous exercises that cause sweating as well as jacuzzis, saunas, and steam baths for up to 48 hours.
  • Use only mineral makeup after 48 hours.
  • Sleep on your back with the head of the bed elevated to minimize swelling or pain as needed.

Day 2-7
Peeling may start 3-5 days after the treatment. You’ll notice skin dryness and flaking which is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. DO NOT pick, scratch, or scrub at treated skin!
Important information: You must allow the old skin to flake off naturally and keep it moisturized at all times. Talk to your skin specialist about which products to use.

Day 5-7
You may start your regular skin care products again, once your skin no longer feels irritated. Most of our patients have noticed continued skin improvement over the months following their last treatment.
For best results: We recommend follow-up and repeat RF-microneedling treatments every 4-6 weeks, with a series of 3-5 treatments depending on your personalized care plan.
