PHOTO FACIAL IPL

Introduction to Phot Facial IPL

IPL ‘PHOTO FACIAL’!

An IPL (Intense Pulse Light) therapy is used to treat sun damage, wrinkles, stretch marks and age spots. IPL is known as photo-rejuvenation and photo-facial. Treatments can be used to erase mild sun damage, brown spots, freckles or irregular pigmentation on the face, neck, or even chest area. IPL Photo-facial stimulates skin renewal and collagen production and reverses skin aging at the cellular level.

Introduction to Phot Facial IPL

Over time, due to aging and other factors, the layers of your skin weaken and can appear thin, wrinkled, rough & blemished. Photo-facial address imperfections in a safe and gentle manner, with results that improve over time as the skin thickens and becomes healthier. When pulses of light are directed over the skin it will reach deeper layers of the skin, which repairs damage and prevents future signs of ageing. This is sloughing off the superficial layer of the skin to reveal younger cells, stimulation of collagen growth responsible for creating structure, and rejuvenation of the genes of the affected skin! After only 3-4 photo facials per year, your skin cells begin to act like younger versions of themselves.

After Photo Facial

  • Avoid unprotected sun exposure for at least 30 days after your IPL Photofacial session. The skin is especially sensitive as it heals and re-damaging the skin is possible during this time.
  • If possible, do not apply makeup immediately after the treatment. It is best to give the skin 12 hours of rest before putting product on the skin.
  • Do not take a hot bath, hot shower or bask in the hot tub for at least 48 hours. Warm showers are fine, but you do not want the skin to overheat while it recovers from the heat and light waves from the IPL treatment.
  • Avoid strenuous activity or exercise for 48 hours after the Photofacial session. Overheating the skin can reduce the positive effects of the treatment.
  • Do not scratch or pick the skin during recovery. As blemishes surface, leave them be! They will flake off naturally. You do not want to create a scar where a brown spot once lived.
  • Avoid any product or supplement high in Vitamin A, such as retinoic acid, glycolic acid, tretinoin (Retin-A), Accutane and alpha-hydroxy acids.
